Congratulations to Mark Jacobs and Todd Schreyer as they nearly won the MWC at Sault Ste. Marie by taking 3rd place.  Each angler is now credited with a 1st place finish in their professional records by having the heaviest basket after day one.

 After spending the last two days on Lake Nicolet, Mark Jacobs and Todd Schryer took third place. They weighed five fish for 13.58lbs today, for a total of 32.66lbs.  It was a slow day for the team, who zeroed on their first pass and got two nice ones on the second pass. The third pass gave them another nice one and then it shut down. Not only did the walleyes stop biting, but so did the pike and catfish.

They continued to grind it out, as they figured it was just a matter of time before the fish came up on the flats or out of the weeds to hit their spinners. The fifth and final fish of the day came at 2pm. Jacobs believes the change in weather may have changed fishing. The wind was coming from the opposite direction yesterday and the sky was cloudy. They were fishing in 12 feet of water pulling silver colored number four Colorado blades with pink beads 10-20 feet back.
