Fished the Bay over the weekend..Caught a few fish, but the bite for our group was slow compared to years past.  Ice conditions are the best I can remember, you look at your GPS and ask yourself "where should I fish today?", grab the throttle and go.  We had anywhere from 12-17" of soild blue ice, one slush pocket and one crack to cross.  The Quad struggled a bit breaking trail Saturday am in a whiteout, but at the end of the day a trail was established that made of 11 mile run a breeze.

Heading back this Friday....

Yep, I'm registered.  I read a 10.91 lb. was leading the pack..

If I head back down this friday, I'll shoot you a text if were on the fish.

Sounds like an additional 12-14" inches of snow with brutal winds forecasted for Wednesday, there could be some 5-6' drifts.  Things could get interesting for travel with slush and drifts...

Sounds like they got hit pretty bad with the storm.  I think I'm wimpin' out on Saginaw Bay this weekend since I haven't signed up for the Shiver.  Be careful if you guys make it out there.  Sounds like quads won't have a chance.

Made the trip back south this weekend. Only 3 keepers iced Saturday, 19", 23" 24" along with several short fish. We had fish on the camera all day, tried several lures, changed sizes, colors, and jiggin methods.....the fish had Lock jaw. I'm staying put this weekend, then going back after em' next w/e.

Regarding ice conditions, again there is alot of ice down there but with the storm the tri-city area received last week I would strongly suggest traveling via sled. I seen a few quads being pulled by a sled to maintain momentum out to the fishing grounds, the bay is not a place to travel in such a careless manner at 13 miles out.
