January 2011 Newsletter

Happy New Year club members! 

Our 3^rd Annual Northern Lakes Walleye Club Ice Fishing Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2011 from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm on Burt Lake launching out of Maple Bay.  Pre-registration will again be available at Pat and Gary’s Party Store or at Maple Bay Marine.  You may also register beginning at 6:00 am at the tent on the day of the tournament.  We will be distributing our flyer and rules form beginning in February at area locations. 

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out our new club website at www.northernlakeswalleyeclub.activeboard.com  There are some great discussions and reports  posted by our members, so be sure to register a profile and join in on our forums.

Our spring meeting will be held early this year at Maple Bay Marine on March 16, 2011 beginning at 6:30 pm.  Be sure to check out the spring show at Maple Bay Marine later that week.

The board is presently working with past sponsors as well as some possible new ones.  Please contact a board member if you have any suggestions for new club sponsors. 

The 2011 tournament season should be exciting and we look forward to having all of you at our future events.  Please help the future of our club with recruitment by encouraging any potential new teams or bringing back some teams from the past.  It’s always great to compete in those large fields with lots of boats.  The economy and life’s busy schedule has impacted all of us, and we thank you for your continued membership and support.
