Going into the last tournament of the season, we are set-up for an exciting finish on the Inland Waterway among the top placed teams!
Mathematically, we still have nine teams still capable of becoming our "Team of the Year." Let's profile our top 3 teams who are separated by just 5 points that have the best shot.
1st place: Team Schlappi
Team Schlappi got off quick out of the gate with a win at Charlevoix followed by a 2nd place finish at Big Manistique. The team struggled at the Soo with just one fish putting Schryer and Scharfee nipping at their heels. A 5 fish limit at Mullett just in time helped keep them on top of the points race all year. Can they stay on top for the entire season and win "Team of the Year?" A limit for them at Burt...and anyone hoping to stop them better bring their A game into the final event.
2nd Place: Schryer and Scharffee
Team consistency could best describe Todd and Gail this season. A 3rd place finish at Charlevoix, 6th place limit at Manistique, 2nd place limit at the Soo, and 6th place finish at Mullett puts them just 3 points behind the leaders. Sidelined during the Mullett tournament, Schryer hopes to jump on board in our final tournament to complete the team that is no stranger to winning "Team of the Year."
3rd Place: Taylor and Blaskowski
The G3 boys two fish at a tough Lake Charlevoix were just enough to give them a 5th place finish. Just missing a 5 fish limit at Manistique they won the Soo scoring big points and putting them up with our leaders. A five fish limit and 5th place finish at Mullett puts them just 5 points back in the race. This team has dominated Burt Lake spring tournaments in recent years. Can they bring that success to the fall and win 2012 "Team of the Year?"
The race for entire top 10 is just as close.
For 2013, our club hopes to secure one or more spots to Cabelas NTC, and 2012 top teams will have first dibs. At our banquet we will update you on our status with Cabelas NTC and our membership with The Walleye Federation. Good luck to everyone on the Inland Waterway and thanks for all your participation on a great season!
So, any predictions on who'll win?

Is Tim gonna make it to Burt? On top of all this we could have the Sydow showdown.
That's worth the price of admission right there.

Sounds like he will be there, and Emmerson Biggins is suppose to be there.
