Northern Lakes Walleye Club is again proud to support stocking efforts this year.
7,500 walleye fingerlings were planted today in Mullett Lake at the Topinabee Launch by Mullett Area Preservation Association (MAPS) and members from the Odawa tribe. The walleye were good sized in the 6-7 inch range with some fish even reaching nine inches. The fingerlings came from the Odawa Tribe's 250 acre lake in Pickford. The fish were marked Oxytetrcycline (OTC) which marks the otolith bone of the fish for future identification.
There may be some opportunities for planting some of the remaining fingerlings from the tribe yet this fall. If you are interested in supporting this effort contact someone from MAPS.
