Looking to see if any club members have any interest in getting together sometime in July for a impromptu tourney, followed by a BBQ at the Jacobs household? I know some of our members have vacations and family plans, but i thought this would give everyone a chance to compete and have a few laughs..
I'm open to the lake, and terms. All suggestions are welcome.
Say, $40.00 entry $10.00 from the entry is paid toward the big fish pool. Payouts 60%, 25%, & 15% paying top three teams along with big fish. 100% payback
Forward comments and suggestions...

I would be interested, I'm off July 16 and 23rd thats my only two sats in July. Maybe we could have it on a lake not on our schedule. Heard Mullet sucks, is Black Lake any good I was told it used to be.

I was actually considering Black Lake. The bite has been improving over the past few years, but certainly not what it used to be. If we have enough interest the 16th of July would be great. Lets plan on that weekend. LAKE TO BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE...PENDING SUGGESTIONS... JULY 16TH...
Great suggestion, keep them coming.

The 16 works for me, I'll be there with or without a partner. I was just trying to think of lakes close to everybody. I live in the UP but that area is only about an hour and a half drive. I've never fished Black is there any other lakes in the area that are possibilities? I don't know the area that well as far as walleye fishing goes.

You pretty much nailed it...Burt, Black, Mullett, are the three "premier" walleye lakes in the tip of the mit, otherwise were forced to travel. There are others, but size may be a concern depending on how many boats enter.
My intentions are to keep it local, reduce expenses, catch a pile of walleyes and have fun.. Eventhough my partner can't catch a walleye...

Just out of curiousity what is the closest launch on Burt to your place?
I would like to donate a prize category. Biggest trout wins this mini-keg. If a non trout lake is chosen it will be biggest off-species.
Burt or even Crooked sound good to me. I'll drive down there.

John,
The nearest launch on Burt would be the state park. I live about 8 mile due east of town off 68 toward Afton. Fishing Burt would certainly keep us close to home, and provide an excellent day of fishing if the bite continues...Let's plan on it! Unless another idea comes forward.

Burt sounds good I could always use more practice there! I'm in! Is there a way to contact other club members other than this site to let them know!

Word of mouth, as the board does not have a meeting scheduled this month. I'm assuming the site will receive some traffic from members looking at the stats from the Charlevoix event...

Mark's right, word of mouth and guys checking the recent results will work.
Also, I can put it out in July's Newsletter that will go out around the end of June. I have telephone lists and would be willing to make some calls as well if needed.

Sounds like the plan is July 16th, launching at the state park on Burt. Tourney hours will be 7-3, five fish weight paying top three & big fish. Following the event I'll host a BBQ at my home...I'm thinking pulled pork, beans, and a few sides...
I'm hopeful that most teams will register to get an idea of how much food I should prepare..
