It's been slower for me this spring than in past years. Catching some fish but they sure aren't jumping in the boat like Asian Carp. I'm yet to catch anything big. There was a small bass tournament out there today with most anglers fishing the south arm. They seemed to have done well, I watched one team weigh in 24 pounds. Water temp in the narrows at Ironton is currently 53 degrees. Surface temp of the south arm is 58 degrees.

It's been a tough bite out there. Had to put in some serious time this weekend to get some fish. Been hearing that from most others as well. Those bass guys were all over it was comical, another boat and I pretty much followed each other around all day. I had 60deg water temp, with it dropping sufficiently out in the main lake.
And to report on the other part of this fishery that I enjoy, bikinni sightings were much greater on Sunday than on Monday. If the fish aren't gonna bite this Saturday, let it be hot.

The Michigan Bass Federation has a tournament on Lake Charlevoix the day after ours on June 5th launching out of the city marina. Expect some traffic both on the lake as well as the Ironton boat launch from this group pre-fishing.

Found fish in some unusual places this week. Not the normal hot spots. Been slow. Have not caught a fish trolling yet. Burt on the other hand is off the hook!
